MoocLab's Online Tuition Service helps students from all over the world find online tutors and book live lessons with them. Whether you teach for a living or just want to help others, you can create a Tutor Resource Page on MoocLab and, if approved, can set up a Tutor Profile and immediately tap into our community of learners.

MoocLab tutors teach online using our Private Instant Chat App or other free VOIP software programs such as Skype or Google Hangouts. MoocLab makes it easy for tutors by handling all the complicated and tedious work needed to get started teaching online.

Online Tuition Marketplace
As a new online tutor, after your Tutor Resource Page is approved and you’ve created your tutor profile, you will be listed in the MoocLab tutor listings. Potential students from all over the world can view your profile and determine if they would like to book you for an online lesson.

These potential students will be comparing you against other tutors so it’s important to have a strong Tutor Resource Page and Profile that sets you apart from the rest of the tutors.

How does an Online Lesson on MoocLab work?
  1. The MoocLab student will contact a tutor by using MoocLab's Private Messaging System either from the Tutor's Profile Page or Resource Page.
  2. The tutor will receive this message in their message inbox. The tutor responds to the student’s teaching request. The tutor and student communicate with each other via the MoocLab private message system to determine their availability and the student's learning needs.
  3. When both the tutor and student have agreed and confirmed all details, the student purchases a lesson via the Tutor Resource Page.
  4. The student and tutor have the session on the agreed upon conferencing program. (If using a 3rd party app such as Skype or Google Hangouts, the Tutor & Student exchange their relevant usernames to connect).

If you are a Qualified Teacher, you should should prepare the online teaching session for the student before the session begins. You should also send session materials to the student before your session.

The Tutor should also initiate the session at the appointed time.

  5. The student confirms the session was completed and satisfactory after the online session his finished. The student can also request a refund to MoocLab if the lesson was not completed. In these situations, sometimes the student and tutor can come to a mutual agreement and handle the problem automatically (for example, reschedule). If students and tutors are unable to come to an agreement for a problem, the session goes into dispute resolution. MoocLab becomes the 3rd party arbitrator in dispute resolution.
  6. Once a student confirms a session as successfully completed, MoocLab issues the tutor with their payment (minus 20% MoocLab fees).
  7. The Student leaves feedback for the Tutor on the Tutor's Resource Page.
