We are excited to announce that The University of Iceland, a progressive comprehensive research institution, has joined the edX global partner community.
The University of Iceland is dedicated to providing high quality programs for learners; researching and developing effective teaching methods; integrating teaching and research learnings; and providing opportunities to engage in project-based learning with Icelandic society and business. It’s emphasis on innovation and research has earned it several high profile rankings including recognition from the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
We are excited to partner with The University of Iceland, an institution driven by the belief that knowledge should have a wide impact, to bring the university’s expertise in Icelandic society, industry and history to our community of over 13.8 million edX learners all over the world.
The University of Iceland’s first course, Medieval Icelandic Sagas, delves into the genre of the saga, offering learners the chance to explore the fundamental elements of this important literary landscape, while taking a deep dive into how the archaeology and landscape of Iceland can help with analysis of the sagas, their characters and their authors. In addition, the course allows for exciting opportunities to engage with the expert community of scholars who study Icelandic and Nordic Medieval history.
The course is open for enrollment today and will begin on March 1, 2018. Sign up now and receive notifications as the start date approaches.
